Company description:
Richard Rogers Partnership has offices in London, Tokyo and Barcelona, and is now some 130 strong, including 12 directors and 20 associates.
The practice is currently developing concept designs for the new Birmingham Library. Other public commissions include three major European law courts – Antwerp, Bordeaux and Strasbourg. The practice designed the Channel 4 Television headquarters as well as two acclaimed office developments in the City of London – 88 Wood Street and Lloyd’s Register of Shipping. A major office and residential scheme within the Daimler Chrysler masterplan in Berlin was completed in 2000, as well as two projects in Gifu, Japan – the HQ for Amano Pharmaceuticals and the VR Techno Plaza. RRP was the architect for the UK’s Millennium Dome and is designing two major new airport terminal developments - Heathrow Terminal 5 and Barajas Airport, Madrid. The practice is also working on three major projects in Barcelona.
Masterplanning forms an important part of our work. The practice has produced major schemes such as the masterplan and redevelopment strategy for the Greenwich Peninsula and the 4 km2 Lu Jia Zui business district in Shanghai.
Sustainable planning is a key feature of the practice’s work and RRP is committed to schemes which create successful public spaces and enliven inner-city areas.
