Job Overview: A recognised leading provider of specialist services in gravity and magnetic geophysics seek a Manger of Business Development to manage the overall sales strategies across the EAME region.
Using state-of-the-art acquisition technologies, the Company combine advanced processing and interpretation techniques in a multi-disciplinary approach to complete the geological picture for their clients in exploration, mining, and government organizations worldwide. Their multi-disciplinary and integrated approach, adds immense value to the Explorationist providing an improved understanding of the subsurface geology. As such the Company is rapidly expanding to meet the growing demands for their services.
The Company has a strong sales team in-place covering their Europe, Africa, and Middle East region. In this role, your primary responsibility will be to drive and manage successful business strategies that will identify and deliver sales in a) gravity gradiometry surveys for current and gradient instrumentation and b) processing and interpretation consulting services.
As such, this role is ideal for an entrepreneurial individual, who has a good background of geophysical products, solutions OR acquisition services be they seismic, EM or gravity and magnetics. You may have a Sales/BDM background (which is preference) or a strong technical or commercial background with the desire to succeed in new business development. The Company are committed to providing full training of all their specific solutions.
Job Responsibilities: Reporting to the Vice President of Global Sales & Marketing, your key tasks and responsibilities will include:
· In conjunction with the V.P Sales, develop the business development strategy to meet the sales targets for Europe, Africa, and Middle East.
· Plan and prioritise business development activities to drive sales leads and opportunities for the regional sales team.
· Identify suitable regions/countries for developing gradiometry surveys. Understand the business requirements for working/operating within the chosen countries.
· Gain a strong knowledge of the key exploration companies exploring within the region and build into your strategies.
· Be proactive in developing client relationships and articulating the value-add of the Company’s solutions to them. Ensure that all leads are passed to the regional sales team.
· Contribute to the sales process by developing and discussing contractual terms and conditions for all services provided by the Company.
· Maintain key client relationships: ensure that client enquiries are responded to promptly and effectively.
· Be aware of export and trade compliance issues; as well as any other regulatory controls, which may affect the company’s business processes.
· Ensure that a high level of customer satisfaction is maintained throughout the service delivery.
· Liaise with clients and/or contractors throughout duration of projects.
· Provide support for cross company systems for client contacts, sales visit scheduling and sales reporting.
· Participate in oil, gas and mineral technical conferences as and when required.
· Establish and maintain effective working relationships throughout the business, and in particular liaise with peers in similar roles to gain the benefits of common practices.
· Maintain professional awareness of the external developments in scientific instrumentation, exploration geology and geophysics, to identify where these may be used to benefit the Company and report on market and competitor activities and provide relevant reports and information.
· Assist the marketing group to devise effective marketing strategies - i.e. providing geophysical and geological technical support where needed, creating panels and displays for Trade shows and other marketing presentations, etc.
· Provide support for cross company systems for client contacts, sales visit scheduling and sales reporting

Candidate Requirements: The successful candidate will have:
· Degree preferred (in an Earth Science related subject) MBA highly advantageous.
· Minimum of 10 years in the oil and gas industry.
· Minimum of 5 years in sales/business development OR geophysical background (e.g. acquisition, interpretation, processing, operations, commercial) essential.
· Strong business acumen - the ability to devise, monitor, manage and communicate business strategies effectively.
· Geophysical acquisition knowledge/understanding essential.
· Excited by new technologies with the ability to understand and articulate the value of non conventional innovative technologies essential.
· Knowledge of the application of potential field geophysics to exploration highly desirable.
· Technical background of gravity and magnetic data, products and/or services highly desirable
