Package: A Base Salary of £25K - £30K plus Company benefits are on offer dependent on skills and experience.
Job Overview: Working for a leading industry provider of service solutions within the field of operational geology you will join their successful Geological Support Services (GSS) team based at their headquarters in Aberdeen to provide software support, consultancy and training to their global client base. You will be mentored and supported in your role and training will be provided in the Company’s technologies, work flows and practices. Applicants are invited with an Earth Science background and some industry experience preferably in Wellsite and/or Operations Geology. You will be expected to travel as required so flexibility is key to this role. The Company is a privately owned medium-sized international geological company celebrating its 21st year in business in 2011. It provides operational geology solutions to the Exploration and Production industry: software, geologists, instrumentation and training to create an integrated package for its Clients to drill and analyse wells. The Company has developed a range of software that supports operational and wellsite geology activities...geology toolset to manage the geological workflow and integrate with other disciplines such as drilling and asset geoscience. The Software creates and manages electronic wellfiles with the capability to collect data from rig vendors, integrate the geological interpretation and transfer knowledge to stakeholders via appropriate visualizations (log, charts, reports) and numerous data transfer mechanisms. The Company has been highly successful in global software sales and training ensuring that operational geology data management and visualization becomes a cornerstone of their Client’s successful drilling programs. Candidate requirements: Degree preferred in Earth Science related subject - geology degree advantageous…Some experience working in the oil and gas industry essential. Preferably at the wellsite or/and supporting/using/training in well software applications…An understanding of different well data types and formats and the well data acquisition, QC and analysis process advantageous. This role is ideal for a candidate with a good understanding of well logs and who is looking for a varied and challenging role where they will be given great opportunity to further their career in operational geology.
