I have extensive experience in the Banking Industry (in excess of 13 years), specialising in Credit Risk (Portfolio) Management and Relationship Management, in a business banking and commercial environment, with a degree of Project and Programme management included. Amongst other Banking experience, being situated in South Africa, I have an understanding of emerging / developing markets in particular and the applicable risks & opportunities associated with such markets. In addition to my Banking skills, as a general business manager, I also offer skills and knowledge with regard to a non-bank commercial environment. Thus I believe my abilities can be transferred from a banking to a non-banking business environment with relative ease. The principles of business do not change. I have an outgoing and energetic personality (my Myers Briggs profile is an “ENTJ”) which also contributes to my teamwork and customer service abilities. Not only is my work ethic high, as I believe in delivering results, but I also hold to a high degree of integrity when dealing fairly with customers and colleagues. A strength of mine is the ability to think strategically about the business, and also to translate that thinking into practical operations. I also believe in challenging the fundamental assumptions of the business, especially in search of performance excellence. Lastly, I hold the development of people especially leadership, in high esteem, as I deem learning and growth of people to be of the utmost importance to the sustainability of any business.
