Jobs in the UK
Technical illustrator and author

The positions I have held as a technical illustrator/ author have all involved similar duties which I would like to describe in greater detail below: • Service and Installation manuals, (Maintenance manuals showing customers in written and pictorial form how to install, strip, repair, and rebuild various equipment). • Spare parts literature, (Exploded views with lists of recommended spares requirements. • Technical bulletin system,(Product recalls and updates) All this has meant liaising with all technical departments, (drawing office, research and development, assembly shops and sales/marketing) to gather data and technical information. The technical literature has been produced on a Windows 95/98 based PC ,(although I am equally at home with an Apple Mac), using desktop publishing software such as Adobe Pagemaker with illustrations drawn in Adobe Illustrator. In recent years I have found the use of a digital camera very useful and has allowed me to use Adobe Photoshop for scanning and importing photographs. In addition to the work outlined above I have been closely involved with the sales and marketing department producing brochures and other sales literature, presentations, and trade show exhibition work.
